Description
A visually dynamic game for all ages, perfect for a sub tub!!
I don’t have lots of time when I’m in need of a sub. Having a sub in my room shouldn’t mean that it takes me longer to set up than the time I’ll actually be gone! This is why I adore my Music Or Not games. They are easy to run, adaptable, and don’t include ridiculous amounts of setup time.
This game set includes 40 different questions that are either an instrument or a river. (Details about what the instrument is or where the river is are included .)
Includes:
Game directions
Three print options for the game cards: color, partial color, black & white.
Two different font options – one more visually engaging for older students, and one for your younger students.
Here are some ideas for using the game:
• Emergency sub plans for all ages (Even little ones can have fun with this!)
• Perfect because your sub does not have to be a music person. Print the game cards and the lists only and keep it no tech and low paper!
• Open House Activity
• End of class reward
• Game Day
• Game at the beginning or end of an instrument unit.
• Cross-curricular activity with Rivers of the World.

So fun! I appreciate that there are 2 versions with 2 different fonts, one more easy to read than the other fun one. Graphics are great, and I like that there is a visual for students to actively participate, like when there is a sub, or they can just guess if it’s used like a slideshow to fill a couple of minutes at the end of class. GREAT IDEA!

This game is a great idea and the kids enjoyed playing it. I would like to have had a picture of each instrument on the answer slide instead of a picture of a saxophone. The kids (and myself) wanted to see what the instruments looked like and it really slowed things down when I had to do a google search between the slides. I probably wouldn’t have paid $7.00 if I knew that pictures of the instruments weren’t included.

Hi Molly,
I’m sorry that I do not have pictures of all the instruments. I’ve been hunting for a while, but at this current time I do not have access to public domain pictures of some of the instruments. I am currently working to make this happen, so please make sure you check my facebook page, or the my purchases –> “recently updated” every so often to see if this has happened. I do intend on making this edit when I can find all or at least the majority of the pictures.

This was a really challenging activity for my music students! I really enjoyed the challenge also!!
If there was any way to actually include a picture of the instrument or river, that would be so helpful.
Even without the pictures, my students loved this game!!

This is such a great game for any age group! Love that it has so many different instruments and rivers to explore. I just wish it was in a slide show format, like Google Slides, but I knew prior to purchase that it was just a PDF, and it works really well if you follow the instructions given to just click and get started. Looking up the instruments and rivers gives students lots of interesting facts/information about different places around the world, and instruments from a wide range of places/time periods.

I’m glad you love this. So you know, if you run the PDF in full screen, it will move like a slideshow!
