I have been looking for this for a while so I thought I would share it, and keep it in a place for me to find conveniently for a while.  As a woodwind player, I knew the alto saxophone pitches, but not the rest of the instruments.

Beginners sometimes have an embouchure that is either too tight, or too lose.  Showing a student how to use a tuner and find their concert pitch is on my list of things to do with woodwind players following our winter break.

These pitches represent the notes that should sound on the mouthpiece only if the embouchure is correct.

I plan on teaching my students how to do this right after break now that they have a solid grasp of how the embouchure is formed.

What other ways do you work on student embouchure?
