Song games and dances are my favorites to use in the classroom. I think it helps the kids connect with what they are learning. That little ditty they sang but didn’t really do much with except sing 20 times and read the rhythm. Sure they can sing it.
But they won’t ask for it next year.
One of the most obvious ways to know you made a HUGE connection with your kids, is to hear them ask for it the week after, the next month, or even a year or two later!
But you still have concepts to teach. Me too.
This bundle includes a PDF for 15 classic folk song singing games, play parties, and children’s games to prepare, present, and practice concepts for each song using the Kodaly method. PDFs include teaching tools including icon notecards, rhythmic notecards, worksheets, and solfege ladders.
Rhythmic elements will be presented in Kodaly syllables, as well as technical names. New files will also have a slide with rhythmic elements presented without text so you may use the syllables you wish.
