If you are at the end of the school year and you need something summery to get your students engaged, here’s some great summer fun activities for music class that will keep them learning and engaged!

Summer Camp

Not everyone goes to summer camp, but it’d definitely something talked about! Pair up with your PE teacher and have a little summer camp fun. Your PE teacher can bust out games like capture the flag (literally my favorite in PE), or other games they love on the theme. Others like Sharks and Minnows, tag games, red light green light.

Set up your classroom like a campfire and sing some camp songs, play a few singing games, and lean into the idea of summer fun.

If you are looking for good games to take outside, check out this post.

Camp Songs!

Silly camp songs are a childhood favorite. Something about an adult letting you sing absolute nonsense or just silly are always worth a laugh. These two resources have lyrics for dozens of camp songs. I never went to summer camp but some of my favorite silly songs were Button Factory, Down By the Bay, and There’s a Hole in the Bucket.

Book 1 has lyrics for 30 songs and Book 2 has 17 songs plus editable pages.
